Yoga workshop

Yoga workshop(s) (Scaravelli inspired yoga) give you the time and space to explore and understand how you move, on and off a yoga mat. Under Erling’s experienced guidance you’ll get the chance to change your awareness of how you “do yoga”.

You can expect to see things a little differently about your attitude to your body. Also about your ideas and attitude to yoga postures or asana practice. Breath and the spaces we develop are so closely linked. After a yoga workshop day you can expect to feel your breath differently, walk a little lighter and feel a little taller.

Yoga workshops theme’s

Each yoga workshop has a theme. During the morning session the theme’s contents are covered in some theory but mostly practical work. We will learn how to implement these into a yoga practice in the afternoon sessions. The spine has a natural range of movement that we want to encourage. Thus everybody regardless of age and or yoga experience can benefit from knowing how to do this.

Yoga workshops for visiting students

At Isle of Yoga we have a number of accommodation options we use for residential retreats and workshops. We can offer a pre workshop overnight accommodation to visiting guest students. Make the most of your visit to the Isle of Wight.

Payment in full is made at time of booking, 50% of this is your deposit. For a full refund cancellation must be made 14 days prior to the day and time of check in (3pm) by confirmed email. Regrettably after this time the deposit is non refundable. For a 50% refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made 14 full days prior to listing’s local check in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in, otherwise no refund.

    The recent Scaravelli yoga Workshop helped me to think about the movements and how stretching yourself into a posture might not be the best thing for your body! Rather that smaller more focussed movement is better for you. Thanks Erling for a really interesting and informative day. Who would have thought moving so little could be so tiring!! A fabulous course. x

    A lovely workshop in a warm and gracious environment with lovely hospitality. Like Betty, although I have practiced yoga for years this was my first experience of Scaravelli yoga and I greatly enjoyed it. The focus on inner movement and spaceousness of the body I found particularly helpful. Come with an open mind, be in the moment of the practice and enjoy a lovely relaxing, deepening day. I will definitely be booking some more classes.

    Just been on an amazing Yoga Workshop in the Isle of Wight. Although I have practiced different types of yoga in the past, this is my first experience of Scaravelli yoga. It has taught me to stop striving for the posture and listen to my body.

    Another great workshop, my second, and I will be coming back for the next one as well. It’s great to be able to spend a day immersing oneself in the practice. I love the doing, my favourite part, but it is also good to be able to chat, ask questions and explore it in a workshop environment. I would recommend it to anyone but it has worked for me in giving me space and length in my body, especially my spine. Having space in the spine is a great feeling! Yoga, possibly not as you know it or have experienced it before.

    I had a Great Experience at Isle of Yoga learning about Scaravelli Yoga … It was mind opening and has changed the way i think about yoga and how my body works … I particularly took away its not all about them super stretches (Hatha Yoga) there can be lots of work done with small interconnected movements…there was a great bunch of people there to share the experience with and i would like to say a special thank you to our warm hosts Erling McCracken and Elaine McCracken for this wonderful day 🙂

    Elaine and Erling have extensive knowledge of their field of Yoga with many years experience in practise and teaching. They offer a nurturing approach in their teaching and I thoroughly enjoyed my last workshop with them. As a dancer + fitness instructor I am constantly using my body and this style of Yoga allows me to unwind and relax and make subtle adjustments in the way I move. I shall be back for more workshops in the future! Thanks Elaine & Erling 🙂
